I recently purchased a KN6500 that works completely fine except for its internal speakers. they dont make any sound at all.

when using the keyboard through outputs on the back of the KB and the front headphone jack - it sounds perfectly fine...

has this issue ever come up before with this keyboard? any ideas what it could be? i have opened it up and everything looks in tact.

thanks
Nick

There is a speaker cut-off contact when you plug in headphones. That would be my first thought. Maybe plugging headphones in and out a few times may make it work.

I had that same thought, Bob. Sounds like it may just be a problem with the headphone jack. I doubt whether anything else would cause both speakers to stop working at the same time.

On the KN7000, there is a setting which disables the internal speakers. I can't remember if the same setting is available in the KN6000/6500......
Program Menus > Sound > Monitor Settings > On/Off - Worth a try....

the KN6500 doesnt have the "monitor settings" option in the sound menu - i just checked.

headphone jack could be the cause? headphones do work through the headphone jack so maybe it could just need replacing... a headphone jack im sure is just universal not pty technics part... hopefully smile

Been a long time but I seem to remember that the monitor setting of OFF also turns off the headphones. If that is true and if the headphones work, it surely must be the headphone jack . . .

Nick, did you get all you needed on style editing for the KN6000/6500 from the other forum? Bill Norrie on this forum is the most knowledgeable source of detailed info on that subject.

ah yes sorry I forgot to reply to that!
the amount of info on Bill Norrie's website is unbelievable!

I have worked out how to modify the existing styles and re save them into the custom style memory. all good.

thanks
