A little while back, some people mentioned that they use strap-on keyboards/keytars … I was wondering if they, or the midi guitarists here, use wireless midi or if anyone can share info and observations about wireless midi hardware for live performances? Thanks.
Ciao, Jerry

Hey Jerry,

At one time I owned a SEM CIAO w/wireless MIDI. The manufacturer was KENTON, from the UK. The MIDI system itself worked OK but SEM (in their infinite wisdom) put the batteries inside the accordion so when charging, the accordion was unusable.
The KENTON cost abt $1200.00 but don't think they are made any longer.

Of course LIMEX has one at abt the same price or more.

I'll sned you a PM with contact info for a guy who uses wireless MIDI He lives in Iowa and can tell you all abt it and where to get one!

Couldn't remember this when I first posted!

One system is WIDI wireless MIDI
Another Midijet:

And, yes, they still make KENTON from the UK.

Hope this helps,
Don P

Thanks for the responses Don and Duane.
Duane, the M-Audio Transmitter and receiver system would have been nice but is no longer available from what I've read. I don't know what this is with the controller on ebay ... I really don't need another controller. The Midi Jet Pro looks interesting as does the Air Power wireless midi system.
Don, I do have the Limex wireless system for 2 of my accordions. Occasionally I use a Yamaha KX5 on a gig, and keep this under your hat, I bought an FR2. I am interested in a system that I could use with both the KX5 and FR2. Both of the systems I referred to have good reviews, I just haven't read anything or heard from anyone who actually uses them.
Ciao,
Jerry
