Hi John, I'am sure the FC2 came out in 1997 the same time as the KN5000.I know that it was in use with the KN6000 onwards inc the KN7. as far as price, best bet is to check on Ebay in Europe they come up quite often often at low prices.
best regards John D.

I am still using the FC-2 that I bought for my KN5000. I think it was about $75.00 at that time.

In 1999 I paid £68.08 inc. VAT for my FC-2 Footpedal and I still have it although sadly, I do not have the KN7000 anymore. I stupidly traded it in for a Yamaha S950 keyboard because it is lighter to transport. It is a good keyboard and I like it, but I miss my KN7 so am looking to buy another one in the very near future.

Hello Audrey,
I pick up your comment re KN7000 replaced with a Yamaha S950
I was wondering if I should do that----- but it seems you are disappointed with the 950 and fretting over getting rid of the K7
Seems like a lot of Synth Zone Fans have also sold the old faithful K7 and replace it with another make and model.

Can't help wondering if its just that people are restless and want a change instead of persuing what they have as in a K7
I wonder how many KN7000 players just follow the replacement trend and then are sad at their decision.

Rave on Technics Fans and pressurize Mr Panasonic to re-think and introduce a KN8000 and leave the other makes in the dust.

Dave L said that.

Audrey the KN7000 is getting pretty old now and although it was ahead of its time when it came out and nothing in my opinion could touch it but alas like all things time marches on and the kn7 when they go wrong now it is hard to get bits particularly for the board circuits. Before you go back down the kn route try and check out the Korg PA 800 or if the budget is a concern the PA500 A PA600 has just been launched. They are all absolutely full of surprises fantastic sounds and very user friendly, very light. In my opinion it is the nearest I have been to a kn7 since I had one. The biggie is they come in at under £1000

Dave I have rebought the Kn7000 3 times. It is a battle between new technology and a friendly great sounding keyboard which has more than most people need.

Audrey the S950 does some great features, it is a good keyboard. I have mentioned this before; Most of us have been using Technics for so many years that we approach the newer keyboards with the same mind-set. It is like relearning, which is always difficult for seniors like me.

I have been going through some medical problems which has confined me to my home; the good part is that I really got into my Korg Pa800. It is an amazing keyboard – it does it all. The learning curve is a nightmare. BUT -- The Kn7000 keyboard will always rule ( A William Norrie phrase) because it is so friendly and the sound and styles, although simple, can stand against many of the newer models of today.

John like you I have had some issues particularly with the old ticker to which I lost interest and sold my KN7000 the leader in it's time however recently the old juices started to return and I had in the loft an old Korg i5S which had stood dormant for quite a while so I recovered the beast and from there followed I thought well I will get a module to try and get a bit up to date but that was not that successful so I look for another keyboard thinking nothing was going to replace or come near the kn WRONG as you will have discovered with your PA800 there are so many options available MP3 SD performances. styles.songbook. it goes on purely my opinion I don't think the PA500 or 800 is anymore a tight learning curve than the kn when it first appeared in fact it could be argued that a few years down the road technology has moved on sound wise and you can almost edit anything in the 500/800. Anyway the short of it is the Korg has refired my interest. I know of people that have the micro korg but that I cannot comment on. Johnnie
