I played my first multi-hour gig in over 7 yrs today. It was a 3 hr 90th birthday party. Pretty much non-stop with only one short break. I found I had way more music than I needed. I brought my BA-330 to pair up with my Compact and that was way more than enough for those 100 people in the Legion hall. By the end of the evening I was already being asked about more jobs and also about playing in the Legion lounge. I had a good time and surprised myself that I wasn't tired or anything.
Maybe I could do a few more of these if the money was there...

BTW, my third and last G-70 is available for $1500. Comes with padded, wheeled gig bag, brand new PCMCIA 5-in-1 reader, AC, music rack, manuals. I love it, but...

I feel the same way. I play three hours straight with two ten minute breaks every Friday, and hate to quit. This wed I play from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, then rush over to another part of the building and play from 2:15 to 4:00. That should be enough for one day.

Much of this depends upon the venue. Most of the time, though, I feel like I'm just getting fired up when the first hour ends at a NH job, and more often than not I play longer than the allotted hour time frame.

When I was playing the Tiki Bars in the Florida Keys, I usually didn't take a break during a three-hour performance. I was having too much fun, and apparently, so was the audiences.

Cassp, the only problem I ever had playing the American Legion and VFW lounges was putting up with the drunks and the low pay. The legions here have recently increased their pay scale to about $225 for a four-hour job, which is still less than half the pay scale for NH jobs.

Good Luck,

Gary cool

I've always done four and five hour jobs, with the band or single. Depending on the mood in the room, I will or won't take my "scheduled " breaks. I won't stop because the clock says it's time if the place is swinging. There is always a point you can stop. I have (had) a system that took too long to setup to make 1 hour jobs worth it after travel also. I am looking at compact setups now; I like the Maui11 & 28 Frank has.

Don't forget some places like you to stop and take your breaks so they can sell drinks and such.
