Hate to keep answering myself, lol. Let me cut-paste the reply that I got from Notation Composer as to whether or not their software would work for me, maybe then those more knowledgeable than I can form an opinion:
Hi, Jimmie:
Composer imports and exports standard midi files, so if you can get save in that format on the KN-7000, there should be no problem.
Despite the name of the site (freemidifiles.biz), it seems that all the versions of Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye on the site are mp3 files, not midi files. Nice song, by the way -- I'd not heard it before.
A midi file is the "score" whereas an mp3 file is the "45 rpm record" -- the two aren't interchangeable. There are some programs now that claim to be able to transcribe from an audio file, but to my mind they are not very successful.
There are plenty of midi file versions of Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye on the net.
But, going back to the KN-7000, if you have an option to save as a midi file, you should be able to get your sequenced tracks into Composer. The only remaining question is whether the Technics saves the auto-rhythm/auto-accompaniment tracks into the file.
Hope that helps.
David

Hi Jim,I use Notation software both musician and composer, saying you save your files in Technics format you have presumably having used the inbuilt APC. If you require to printout the bass or guitar parts you will need to convert the file to standard midi format, this may sound to be very hard, not so as long as you have 5 unused tracks in the sequence as you can then use the converter to split the APC into it's individual parts onto each of the 5 tracks, ie:- bass, drums, acc 1, acc2 etc. This can then be saved as a midi file on a floppy disc then downloaded to computer and opened in Notation allowing you to see all the parts, with ref to the drum part the program will print this in true drum dots which any good drummer should be able to read. Good luck as it takes a little practice to do the file conversion on the keyboard but the result is very worth it. Best regards John.
