I just got asked to play 100th birthday party for a sweet latina lady. Here's a few songs that the family requested that I don't have in my book:

Historia de un amor ( the Englsh language "the story of love")
Nosotros
Usted
las classes de cha cha cha

If anybody has these I'd really appreciate it!

Donny - those some of my favorite Latin artists. And thanks to the SZ member that sent me his charts! I love this place:)

I agree Donny that every performer should put his or her own stamp on their tunes. It's not entertaining to watch a guy with his head buried in his sheet music. But I don’t think it's wrong to use a chart to learn a tune, or as a reference point. A chart is just like a road map. There are many routes you can take. It’s up to the performer. There’s plenty of room for creativity and interpretation.

I can see charts for a band or bigger to keep everyone in sync....but for a OMB player not so much more of a crutch and less audience eye contact. But that's just me.

As I always say Donny, when all you do is the same 40-60 songs who needs a chart, and it is utter BS to say one cannot either be creative, or be devoid of emotion when using dots.

I could play you 5 tunes (no video) and I bet you could NOT pick which ones I was using a chart for, if any wink

And in any case if this were so (charts are a crutch) why is it always a "deal-breaker" for YOU if a new keyboard you are looking at has NO lyrics display?
You have made that point quite a few times over the years....

And are not the MP3's you use a "crutch" as well?
