Greetings all,
I have a computer/electronics background but have never dealt with MIDI at all. I am interested in getting started and setting up a home studio and maybe doing some live recording there as well later on. Does anyone have any suggestions on a reference or two that deals with this area. Sweetwater has many selections, but being new to this I would like to get your input before I buy.
Thanks.

Unless you are adamant about buying books, you might start with the following links, and use a search engine such as Google to locate more material online.

You're welcome, I'm glad to help. Keywords for further online searches that would likely be fruitful might include "MIDI basics" and "home studio".

If you get serious about live recording, here's a link to help with the acoustics: http://www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html
