To Roger et al,
Further to my problem sometime ago with the SD card loading/not loading.
Just today, on a whim! I decided to try loading a card while the KN was turned off. VOILA !! It worked.
So I tried it a number of times and had the same result.
Also the spring which ejects the card performed normally.
Before; the spring would continually not engage and required numerous efforts to operate correctly.
I will persevere with this format for a while to determine if it is an alternative.
This may appear to be a poor alternative, but at least it appears to work every time. (So far)!!!!!!
Meanwhile, for the "technology experts", do you have an explanation for this behaviour?

Interesting - but if power doesn't reach the SD Card loading slot it can't be anything to do with that. I did blow down the SD Card hole the other day and that seemed to improve things - probably shifted some of nature's dust, I guess...
