I have been in the process of trying to stay as relevant as a 72 year old can. When I started playing for seniors, they were retiring in the early 1960's, growing up with the music of the 30's and 40's. I am afraid more are dead than alive.

I am going through my keyboards looking for song styles of the 50's through the 80's, as a start. My Yamaha S910 and Audya have Music finder type lists, which brings me to the KN7000 Music Stylist,Music Style Arranger, and suggested songs in the reference guide.

I must admit I have never used it in ten years, and find it pretty darned good. Assuming I like the suggested instruments, I find that combining the Stylist with the Style Arranger on, gives me my 4 variations of style and instruments. I guess one should then write them to Panel Memory 1-4 as I normally would.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bernie

Some years ago there were discussions on suggested songs besides the list in the reference manual.

Anybody?

Hi Bernie,
I have not touched that button for ages. Now, since you have touched a nerve with me, I realise what I have been missing.
i have thought for quite a while that tha MSA in the Kn7 was probably it's weakest feature,in that many of the four settings are too unrelated and lack continuity to each other and I have very rarely used it. I'd rather do my own registrations, but having revisited the Music Stylist I think the settings in 1, 2, 3, and 4 are far more usable and better balanced IMO.
I store all of my settings in the Panel Memory, but if I only have 4 settings for a particular song, I still duplicate them into 5, 6, 7, and 8, because if I malfunction the foot switch at 4 I still have suitable settings to deal with. (age is a terrible drag) Ask Roger!!!!!
Thanks for the reminder about Music Stylist.

Hi Ray
I don't feel as foolish, now, bringing up an ancient feature. I, like you, and probably many others, get into our routines and forget the rest.

BTW, I save regs on extra PM slots also, to avoid a nasty surprise
Bernie
