Got to meet one of this forum’s stalwarts today … I want to thank Gary Diamond for giving me some of his precious time today. I got a tour of the storied yacht, a private serenade in the marina yard and some valuable advice.
Ciao,
Jerry

Jerry, that's not the way a "road trip" works...you have to call the rest of the boys smile

I knew only last year that a word 'advise' can't be plural in English. As for Russian it's hard for me to keep it in mind. Sorry for off-topic, I'm little lonely.

DonM, well, this is the way how well-behaved Americans usually act ) But it shouldn't be a consolation for me. Because it's English which became the main way of international communication, not Russian. But Russia is quite large too and we have here a lot of people from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc., and for them Russian is like English for me - sort of a way to communicate with people from big land.

I happened to born quite close to Moscow so I'm kinda ignorant this way - if you're close to Moscow it's hard to care about the rest or the country. Sorry, I'm too chatty today.

Don, I was thinking of keeping your sign attached to see if I got celeb treatment

Fran, sorry ... I'll be sure and contact you next time ... Wow, Does this admonishment mean that I may be one of the 'boys' now?

Kabinopus, there are many English words that cause confusion even among native English speakers. Distinguishing the difference between Advice, the noun and Advise, the verb is one of many examples.

It was great meeting Jerry yesterday, and if the weather would have been a bit better, we I would have taken him sailing. Unfortunately, our visit was too short, I had to work last night and the weather prediction was for a 50 percent chance of rain. Maybe one day in the not too distant future we can all get together and have a mid-Atlantic Synthzone Jam.

Good Luck,

Gary cool

I told you to come on down to this part of the world. You need to get away from all the hustle and bustle of Philly and take some time to smell the roses. There's a beautiful world out there to see, Dave. There's still some time before schools starts to go sailin with an aging captain.

C'mon down,

Gary cool
