When I take my time, talk with the ladies and keep things at an even, relaxed pace, my entire setup takes about 7 to 8 minutes at most. The first video is of the rig after it was set up for last night's job.

The second video is from today's job and depicts what it takes for me to set up my rig for nearly any small to mid-size job. For larger jobs I just add another Bose L1 Compact, which takes less than a minute.

The total time to unload all the equipment from my Dodge Grand Caravan is less than 4 minutes, but if it's raining I can do it much faster. wink

Enjoy,

Gary cool

Gary is pink pants related.

I admire the slow steady calm pace you set up with. I don’t know anything about that.

Nice videos, thanks.

I am pretty sure I have the fastest set up ...Less than 2 minutes for senior gigs..

The fastest , lightest set up was My Roland V-stand, Roland BK5 and Roland BA330..

30 seconds for the V-stand..30 seconds for the BK, and 30 seconds for the BA330..

I have a big set up, that is just as fast...V-stand, G70 and Cube amp..another 30 seconds and I can have the second cube in stereo..

Both systems do not need a mixer..the G70 has it covered and the BA330 covers the BK5...No laptop is needed with the BK5..If I need to add the Laptop with the G70 ..another 30 seconds...that is less than 2 minutes , either way..

I don't use tripod stands, or fans...just a pedal or two for the keyboards..
And only 2 audio cords ..plus a mic cable..
A power strip for two plugs, sometimes a 3rd for laptop..

Fran, I'm looking forward to seeing your video.

Donny, I couldn't agree more - it's the sound that counts.

cheers,

Gary cool

Great set-up, Gary, and very smooth and quick, indeed. I'm pretty pokey when it comes to setting up, usually takes me anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour, and I have less stuff than you.

Of course, I usually did only one gig per day...but, let's be realistic, you have more ambition in your little finger than I do in my whole body. wink I'm now a fervent practitioner in the "Art of Laziness". smile

I'm also a stickler for how it sounds so I always try to get in a good sound check, using a midi-file I recorded.

I hope you are enjoying your new S950...it's a beauty, and PSR's have always been a great value...just look at the mileage you got from your 3K's.

Hey...I didn't know you guys bought Audyas grin

Gary video of set up on the BK5 is past..sold the BK and sold the BA to Donny..If I have to prove my under 2 minute set up with the G70..I will..but it is easy to picture how fast to set up a single all in one keyboard on a stand and plug into a single amp.. smile

No problem, Fran - I just like watching the masters in this business at work - that's how I learn things. Yeah, I'm still learning.

Cheers,
