Awesome song . I use a generic 16 beat with an added all four bass drum multi pad. It's not much more than a slow disco beat with 16th notes on the hat and 2 & 4 on the snare.
There are many specific patterns that can work, but that always laid the ground work for me ... the harmonizer and my voice did the real work. The drums just keep time in that song.
