If anyone can answer a few Questions regarding this it would be great. I know Sokratis has made some as well.

1. If i have a style already and i just want to record new audio drums, does the drum bar length need to match the bass, accomp tracks?
Meaning if i have 4 measures in accomp can i record 12 measures in Audio drums and the accomp will just loop anyway?

2. When i am recording a fill and it ends with a cymbal, how does that work when the keyboard switches back to a variation, is their a delay from the cymbal wash?
3. Do i record and save everything as seperate files eg. Var 1.wav var2.wav fill 1.wav break3.wav?

I will be recording these Audio Drums using a real drum set. I will be using a real accoustic set in a studio and a Roland TD 20 triggering vst software drums. Is their a diff on how this needs to be played/recorded?
Which set would be easier and provide better results?

Another question is some of the styles i play are using a tempo of 160-162 but i sometimes slow it down to about 120BPM, when i record the audio drums should record in the exact tempo of 160BPM or somewhee in between?

Thanks

Pearlss1977,

Somw answers for you below...

1. If i have a style already and i just want to record new audio drums, does the drum bar length need to match the bass, accomp tracks?
Meaning if i have 4 measures in accomp can i record 12 measures in Audio drums and the accomp will just loop anyway?
>>>AJ:- Equal or longer than arranger length.

2. When i am recording a fill and it ends with a cymbal, how does that work when the keyboard switches back to a variation, is their a delay from the cymbal wash?
>>>AJ:-No. However in the style compiler there is a global setting for the styles which automatically turns on/off the crash cymbal when coming out of a fill. If used directly within the fill of a style, no as the new audio for the arranger is called up instantly after the last bar/note of the fill!

3. Do i record and save everything as seperate files eg. Var 1.wav var2.wav fill 1.wav break3.wav?
>>>AJ:- Yes. You can however use part of the audio from say arranger a in fill a. AUDYA will automatically truncate the audio file and use just the first measure of it ... keeps it smoother too!

Another question is some of the styles i play are using a tempo of 160-162 but i sometimes slow it down to about 120BPM, when i record the audio drums should record in the exact tempo of 160BPM or somewhee in between?
>>>AJ: If majority of the stylye using this audio file are going to be played between 160-162, record the audio at 161 for best quality and do another recording at 120 to handle the rare cases when these will be required ... you have a lot of room in the HD for this too.

Hi AJ

Thanks for your reply!

I was not clear about this part of what u said.

AJ:- Yes. "You can however use part of the audio from say arranger a in fill a. AUDYA will automatically truncate the audio file and use just the first measure of it ... keeps it smoother too"

Can u elaborate on this method, and how does the Audya know where to truncate things on its own?
The style im creating will have 3 intros and 3 endings 4 variations and 4 breaks and 4 fills. What do i need to do to make it easier then recording everything separate?

Thanks

1. Record everything separate (if you want them to be different).
At the end/middle of Arranger A, B, C and D audio, put a little "fill" which is about/= 1 bar long.

2. When matching (in Style VIEW), you can e.g For Fill-1, assign the same audio used in Arr. A. Audya will only play the first 1 measure of the entire loop when you press FILL - the rest is ignored ... so if you (in the Arr A audio)) program a little 'fill' at the start of the loop, this is what will play, rather than recording separate audio for fills which gets a little 'tricky' and needs more time to perfectly match/sync.

Hope this explains this better.

Thanks,

AJ
