Korg has done it again. New styles update. I haven't tried them, but initial reports say they are really great.

Wow, these are really good. There's an Acoustic Jazz style that has 32 measures in the 4th variation. It has swap-type breaks built in. Pretty neat. There's a Swing style that's really good.
There is a 6/4 style that is really neat, and a Country Rock that is good as well. Also a couple of Pop styles that work well. I didn't listen to the Rap one yet. Lots of good multipads included and some good OTS settings.
I will try to record some later and post if it will help any one.
It is well worth the time to download and install them.

TBH, that's all any arranger needs to do to keep up with Yamaha!

Yamaha's development pace is so slow, and Korg's update pace is so good (Roland's as well), often your old gear is more capable than when you bought it, and has more styles. In the meantime, the only way any Yamaha user got better capabilities was to buy a whole new arranger.

Now, if only we could stop trading factory and 3rd party commercial styles like bubblegum cards, we might actually have enough USABLE new styles to make us think we had a new arranger every few months! Nobody's going to make them if they can't make a living from it!

Don,
yes, variation 4 of the Acoustic Jazz style is really incredible!
The '70s ballad is also very cool. cool
These styles (like those from the Musikant) are really one step above all the remixed styles from older Korg keyboards, maybe because they were programmed having specifically the PA3X in mind.
