You sure know how to make a guy feel old, Nigel! I was on Chris Hansen's forum before it switched to Synthzone. I was on the English version of course. It's neat to see the names of old friends who are no longer around, like Jerry Silberstein, my friend Comalot, from here in the Shreveport area, Bob Gelman, who started the Yahoo PSR style and song groups, etc. And then there was the infamous Rasheed, who cussed us out in several languages. Several of us, I know Scott Yee was one, found that forum after the Technics Canada forum folded.

Yep, there were several people that figured Yamaha would never make a 76'er, including yours truly...about the same as the number of people predicting Roland would produce another TOTL 76-note arranger. The first bunch...well, doggonit, we were wrong, but, the outcome was entirely positive, and people are very happy to see Yamaha's new 76'er (including a few from the second bunch). Now that second bunch, well, they were wrong as well, but, but unfortunately, the outcome wasn't so positive...no TOTL whatsoever. Now, as in the case of the first bunch, being wrong wasn't so bad at all. The second bunch? Well.....mmmmmmm.....their case was more sad than bad! But one thing was right for sure...Nigel starting this great forum. . I must say, I enjoy this site immensely, and I have met great people here, quite a few becoming valued close friends. Thanks again, Nigel. Ian

Hi (snip) But one thing was right for sure...Nigel starting this great forum. (snip)
As far as I remember, Nigel got/inherited Chris Hansen's board. Correct me, if I am wrong. Jørgen No need to be snippy, Jørgen. You are probably correct...I think he did inherit it from Chris Hansen. The important thing is that Nigel has had the patience and skill to keep it going for us to enjoy. I haven't had this much fun since my ex mother-in-law fell down the basement stairs and into the coal bin (and no, I didn't push her). There were a few close calls with this site, as far as I know, but Nigel "kept 'er between the poles". Your site,The Unofficial YAMAHA PSR Resource Site. was the very first site I got styles and info from...I believe Simon Williams had SVP World forums on the go at that time (now closed since November 1, 2009) as well. We are very lucky to have sites like yours and Nigel's Synth Zone as well as PSR Tutorial. The arranger culture is all the richer for them. Ian

Jørgen, The opening page of your site says this... "The links at this page leads to a wealth of wisdom about Yamaha keyboard related topics. Tutorials, FAQs, knowledge bases, video instructions, resource files, specifications. It is all here. And some links even point to files to download and to use directly in your keyboard. At the listed sites you can find any relevant information applying to all/more models within the Yamaha Tyros, PSR, CVP, DGX and YPG range of keyboards."
That's pretty much as complete as it gets...I've sent more Yamaha players to your site than I can count. Between you and Joe Waters (PSR Tutorial, you guys have the best (and probably longest running) Yamaha-centric sites on the Internet, and provide help (and goodies) so that both new, and experienced, players get the most enjoyment from their keyboards. Great work, buddy. Ian

Yes, Jørgen, Michael has been instrumental (pun intended) in me becoming nearly addicted to style editing with his clever StyleAdjust program that he made just for little ole me!
Plus Michael's excellent other software programs, and equally your own, that have enabled us to take our PSR/Tyros/CVP Arranger keyboards to places even Yamaha didn't think they could go.
Michael's FAQ's have been incredibly handy to all of us players and have got me out of a jam more than once.
I often think that both you guys, along with Joe Waters, and of course Nigel, as well as those who are dedicated to the support of Korg, Roland, Ketron and Wersi instruments have helped make the whole of the arranger community one we can be proud of.
Ian

... and my German friends Heidrun and Heiko... - or maybe you dont read German...? ... plus so many others... Jørgen Yes Jørgen, I have watched Heidrum and Heiko do demos...fantastic players, and even though I don't speak any German, I really enoyed their presentations. I also really like Sud Clavier demos...I speak and understand French fairly good (we took it in school) but I'm used to Canadian French which has a lot of slang and some differences in pronunciation. Sud Clavier are so hammy and that makes them even funnier, and also holds interest. We are so lucky to have such great contacts...when I first got an arranger, there was no Internet, and finding another player and staying in touch was very hard...that's also why I started making my own styles...I was forced into it...there were very few available, and the ones that were, cost a lot of money for only 6 to 8 styles. Simon's site (SVP World) and your site were the first ones I was aware of. Ian
