Second time it happens. I come to the restaurant expecting to play there, and it turns out that there's an instrument by Orla. It simply brakes my brain when I'm thinking about two things - how someone came to make it and how someone came to buy it. In other words how can it be that a low-range keyboard can be built into such a case? Excuse me for my emotions. I might regret this later.

Last time I saw the name Orla was way, way back in the seventies where they made cheesy combo organs. I think they may have been under the name Elka. I think they were an Italian firm. It's been a while, maybe someone here can expand on that.

From wikipedia, so take it for what it is worth ...

ELKA or Elka may refer to:
An Italian Synthesizer manufacturer, now defunct; brand now owned by Generalmusic, used for their amplifier products

Thanks, Tony. I did a bit of digging and found this: http://www.organforum.com/forums/showthread.php?16633-Orla-Elka

I just remember them as not being taken too seriously. All us lads were playing Vox Continentals, Farfisa Duos, etc. except I had a Watkins Telstar.
