I'm planning on selling my iPad Mini and replacing it with a 10 inch tablet. I wondering if anyone has opinions on the Android-based machines such as Asus or the Win8 tablets like Surface and Samsung. A friend of mine bought a cheapo $99 tablet from Big Lots and runs his set lists and song sheets with no problem; it runs an Android system. My main uses other than songlists are websurfing and email.

Cass, It is really hard to beat the iPad right now - except for the price. I took a serious look at the 10 Inch Surface and did like it but you are very limited in terms of available apps right now. I took a thumb drive with my PDF lead sheets on it and they worked just fine on the Surface tablet. I have 2 iPads and don't need a third tablet so I did not buy the Surface. If you do not do anything but surf the internet and do email the Surface would work fine. If you are into the many Apps that run on the iPad you will not have them on the Surface.

Cass Take a look at Samsung S3 Tab. I have the 8 inch model...just a smaller version of the 10.1 model. Ithas expandable memory ... all my lyrics & MP3 are on it. NO PROBLEMS surfing w/wi fi. Moving files to & from PC is a snap. Many apps to. Eddie
