I am considering selling my Pro-One synth in like new condition, which I purchased when it first hit the stores, which I believe was in 1981, or whenever (my memory isn't so good on this one). What would a fair asking price be for this. It works perfectly (well- as perfectly as a Pro-One could work!) Please, serious answers only.

Hello , I replied at your SH-1000 question . I would rather have a PRO-ONE than an SH-1000 because I already have an SH-1000 . The pro one is cool for SEQUENTIAL's only mono synth , not much can go wrong with them . SEQUENTIAL products usually had very poor reliability ( PROPHET 5 in particular ) . I will offer $200 .

At today's prices you should expect to get close to $500(US) if your Pro1 is in as good of condition as you say. Top dollar is usually paid when purchasing from an original owner such as yourself. Check out:

I, being the owner of a P10, will have to disagree with 800dv's remark about SCI's reliability. This P10 has only been in the shop once since I purshased it, also from the original owner, many years ago and then it was only for inspection and calibration. However, the *original program memory battery died -last year- and had to be replaced. While time may have barred the P10 from being gigged, it is still quite healthy in a studio environment.

The PROPHET 10 that was made in the same case as the PROPHET 5s would catch on fire because they would get so hot , that is why they came out with a double manual version with a larger case . If you start gigging with your or move it on a regular basis , it will fail . Prophet 5s were bad about miss triggers and the micro processor failling . That is why they were bought by SEIL .

Believe me, my P10 has been gigged. Yes, the original P10s did overheat and that's no secret but, while I'm sure there's a couple around somewhere, it's been better than 15 years since I've seen one. Mine is a 2M and (knock on wood) it hasn't ever failed me on stage nor in my studio where it gets moved, bumped and jolted frequently. Eventhough I choose not to gig my P10 at present, I will not hesitate to do so if I feel the urge.

Thanks for the feedback on the Pro-One. It is in perfect condition. I think I will keep it another 15-20 years.
