First off hello to everyone on here, I have recently bought a Korg PA900 thanks to a lot of the helpful clips and comparisons between the middle and TOTL arrangers on here. It arrived last Friday, and I need to get familiar with it enough to play at a wedding reception at the end of the month. juggle

Would it be possible to make a short sample from one of the onboard sounds, or loading a wave file, to play the descending synth note for the intro of Here Comes The Sun?
I see in the manual page 241 you can assign a sample to a key. Would that be a good starting point?

I have never done my own sampling, but I can't imagine any reason why you can't to what you ask. It makes perfect sense in theory. If you can't isolate the sound during sampling, you have to be sure to trigger it in time, and that you are in the same key, of course. Let us know how it works out.

I am not sure about the Pa900, but I believe that with the technics kn6000 if you made a 'performance pad' it had to be created in the key of 'C' and then it would play in whatever key you were playing in at the time you used it ...

Thank you for the replies, I am always happy to see videos of Bert Smorenburg. keys

The pad sounds already set up do keep in tempo and pitch on the PA900. I felt like I was pressing once to turn on and play through, once more to stop the pad, rather than retrigger the sample like Bert does.

In Sound mode, I was able to tweak an Old Portamento sound down two octaves, and to have a low pitch bend. That sounded close enough for my needs. I can save it as a user sound, but back in Style Play, it keeps the lower octave note but not the pitch bend info. This is the same for me so far in Sequencer mode for recording as a sample.

I hope to get more time at this before the weekend, I may just try and get a wave file of the synth sound and fade it out before the strings start.
