Wrong section of the keyboard Donny - it can't be done there. You can change the octave of the entire style there, but not a single style component. You can also change the octave of a right hand voice there as well.
This would have to be done in the onboard Style Creator program, but I have not done this in so long I forgot how to do it - that among other things I probably should not mention.
Doing this on a Roland is a snap. No need to use the Style Creator. Makeup Tools puts all the commonest style editing needs in one simple place.
Adjust Tone, effects, octave, dynamics (both Volume AND Velocity) for every Style Tone (not just the Style Part, for styles with different sounds on the same Part), and then store them as either offsets (so the original data remains intact, or 'freeze' them to those values... And you can do the same editing to every single sound in a drum Part, too!
TBH, the Makeup Tools are still one of the primary reasons I choose Roland's over others. They make tweaking styles and SMF's easier and more comprehensive than any other make.

Ok thanks all for your replies, sad that there is not an easy way to do this, and i'm not even sure re the style creator. So i would like to ask those wonderful people at Yamaha to come up with a firmware/software change to enable this. I know they generally get most things right, but it's a user preference re the octave selection for style parts.
