In 2013, I did a bunch of NH gigs, and I prepared dozens of tunes that I thought the clients would enjoy hearing as well as songs based on lists from the good people of this forum and many other sources. Everyone seemed to enjoy what I offered, but I could sense that in some cases, I wasn’t hitting the ‘sweet spot’ and I would ask, ‘Do you have a favorite song(s)?’ Of course, the responses varied a lot. But, I did detect a sort of pattern, and some were songs that I had discarded a long time ago. Songs like, Tennessee Waltz, Blue Moon, My Melody of Love, Bad Leroy Brown, All of Me, Music-Music-Music, Goody-Goody. I’m trying to recall as many of the requests as I can and revive, re-learn and re-work ‘em.
Ciao,
Jerry

Great stuff !!! Keep em coming !!
Funny but as I read two people listed Tequila Sunrise I had it in the back of my mind today. While working on some Style Edits on the BK9, thanks to Fran and Diki, a style hit me. Perfect for Sunrise and Blue Bayou. Maybe tie them together. You never know.

Also I agree, sometimes those tunes you forgot long ago come back around. A while ago I pulled Moon River. Hadn't done it in years. Don't you know I get a request for it on a gig. Put it back in the list, but that list is getting really long.

Hi Bill and troops:

New songs "in the works" mean different things to songwriters. This afternoon I rolled up my page and put up five songs written and sung by me. The first one is hot off the griddle... and yeah, I use that term loosely... LOL!

Sounding good Dave - love the way you put these together. I especially enjoyed the Lewisville Stomp.

Thanks, Gary:

I appreciate your comments very much. Since acquiring the 910 I've been told that my country songs sound more "country" and the overall mix of songs sounds better than with the good old PSR-2000. I still could not bring myself to part with it, though. Although I have an 8 track digital recorder, I only use one track for 99% of my songs. If a recording ends up sounding less than what I want, I simply re-record the whole thing.

Thank goodness I finally learned to use Registration Memory but even with that invaluable tool, I end up re-cutting songs quite often. Think of the practice I get... LOL!

You have a great set of ears 'cause "Lewisville Stomp" seems to be one of the most popular songs in my catalog. I'm still looking for that call from B.B. King wanting to record it... but I won't be holding my breath. Drat!

Thanks again, for listening and for your feedback.

Tony,

Don't know about the Korg but EAGLETS3 on your Digitech will give you a great harmony for most Eagles songs.
God Bless,

Between my solo act (mostly senior shows) and Latin/variety band, I'm always finding something new material to work on. This week I'm working up Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are". I'm even trying to learn the sax solo just to see if I can...

Next month quinceñera (girls 15 birthday party) The father who is African American requested Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" the Temptations "My Girl" and the mother who is Mexican American requested various boleros and cumbias that are already in our repertoire.
The girl wants a few songs by Daft Punk, Bruno Mars and Prince Royce which I think we will actually be able to pull of with the arranger keyboard. We're starting the party and a DJ will finish up playing the stuff that the kids like... Should be fun.

Nice tunes. Maybe BB will be looking for something fresh.

Your brave, I wouldn't attempt any of the kids dance tunes. I'd let that be the DJ's thing. I do a similar thing at parties. Start with the keyboard and then morph into the DJ stuff as the party heats up.
Keep writing, maybe you'll hit that home run.

BB was here last week at Margaritaville Casino. I wanted to go see him again, but the price was ridiculous, over $100.
I first saw him in about 1969.
