Nice feature on the Korg arrangers (PA series, at least ...) the assignable buttons can turn off the bass part, or the arranger tracks with one quick push.

There are 3 buttons on the PA900 - I have them configured to do it this way:
#1 turns the LH sound (manual bass) ON
#2 turns the acc bass OFF
#3 turns all the arranger tracks (1-5) OFF

This way ... even during a song, I can switch modes with ease and a quick button push arranges the keys the way I need. I will often switch off all arranger tracks in small, quiet rooms ... too much fluff for a background situation, sometimes. These 3 buttons are a great tool for me. LOVE 'em!

Roland has a nice feature that automatically calls up a subdued version of the style. Korg is very easy to mute individual parts by hand.
But we're talking about a feature that would automatically mute the piano part in a style when you select that same piano for a right-hand solo part. Or same with guitar or any other sound.

I liked the way you could mute individual tracks on the old Korg i30, an on/off button below each slider. Mix'n'match at will.

There are some cool tricks you can do with the Roland BK9's...

You not only get a dedicated 'Track Mute' button, which can be programmed per Performance which track or tracks it mutes, but the D-Beam can also be tasked to switch off drums, drums and Bass, or everything BUT the drums and bass.

So, by a combination of these, you can have considerable flexibility choosing what you want to quickly mute with one button or a wave of the hand. The thing about all this, at least for me, is that I don't want to have to go and grab sliders or hit a bunch of buttons to do ONE thing, and I don't want to have to repeat the whole process to turn everything back on...

But damn! Sure would be cool to have the machine figure out 'Hey, he selected an acoustic piano... I should mute the Piano Part! Oh... now he's got a jazz guitar sound. Let's turn the piano back on and mute the guitar part now.'

THAT'S a smart arranger!
