I'm sorry but...Unless someone can prove to MY ears that VH2 has been improved and up to par on the quality of the TC Helicon or Digitech units tracking & harmony quality the jury is still out for me.
No need to apologize, Donny...these are only our opinions.
I wouldn't say the VH-2 is up to the quality of Helicon or Digitech units. I remember using a Digitech harmonizer many years ago, in the late 80's, I believe, and it was pretty good back then, so they have many years of experience that goes towards making their product an excellent unit.
I also said, those really fussy about harmony will usually go with one of the above outboard units, but for general purposes, the VH-2 works a treat for me and many others.
So, if you must have the best...get a Helicon or Digitech.
For people like me, who only use the harmonizer for the very basics, and for vocoding, it works pretty good, and I don't need to hook up extra equipment.
It does pay however, to dig into the VH-2 and customize the presets, as it can make a big improvement, but, again, still not up to the Helicon and Digitech.
I'm not much of a fan of the harmonizer in general, as none sound totally realistic to my ears, and many people tend to overuse them.
