A short while back I posted this question for S950 users: What would you do on a gig if your USB port failed to see your thumb drive? Today that exact thing happened to me on a gig. Luckily I had saved a gig setup in my USER area and that worked just great.

Right now it looks like the Thumb drive is flaky. Once at home I saved everything from it onto my computer and then reformatted the thumb drive. I then reloaded everything back onto the thumb drive and gave it a try on my S950. Same problem - the S950 did not see it. I tried several other thumb drives and they worked just fine.

So now I have three thumb drives all with the exact same thing on them and ready to use for gigs.
Never can have enough backups.

Deane

Hi Deane,
I had this happen to me except on my computer, not on my keyboard.

I found later that if it was left plugged in, it showed up after about 5 minutes and worked normally.

I agree though, that you can never have too many backups.
Tony

If you have multiple usb sticks because they can break.... Do you also have a spare arranger, for if that breaks down...

If i was a gigging musician, i really would have a backup one, ready for gigging..
Because if you would be playing at a wedding, i could not live with myelf if there was no music, and my broken arranger was guilty for ruining a wedding... It would be my worse nightmare, having other people relying on me, and me failing them

But then i work for a millitary organisation, where we allways have atleast 2 backup plans

If i ever merry again, i will book you for my wedding, better safe then sorry

When i played in a band in my younger mans years, we didnt have any spares, however we had 24/7 backup from our local music shop... And they had a plethora of DX7s.. Allways atleast 2 models..

But in the current webshop society, i dont think i could gig withouth having a backup set..

Donny,
I actually had to do that this year. I had a power supply on the Bk-9 not work and rather than pack up and leave I plugged my Iphone into my Bose and away I went. Worked pretty good and the residents didn't mind at all.
