Hi Guys,
Been a while. I have a question about PSR s950.
I got one the other day for my birthday, and, now I'm trying to sort thru all my yammie styles. I 've got duplicates of everything.

What I'm trying to do is work out which version of the style should work best with the s950 ie if I have the choice of an original version of a T3 or T4 or psr s910 or s900 style etc which keyboard's styles would work better on the s950 or I'd it just so case of going thru the lot and hearing which sounds best to one's own ears.

BTW, I still have my PA3X , the s950 is a replacement for my old psr1500 which I hope the grandchildren are now enjoying.

Best wishes
Rikki

T4 versions will work just fine. You'll find the default styles are absolutely incredible, though. Give them a try.

Hi Gary,
I've been thru them and they sound great, far better than on my old psr1500.
There is the odd one missing though.

Congratulations, noticed you have one too, and Donny of course.

Best wishes

Hi Donny,
Thank you.
I gather you've had your's for quite a while now?

I've always liked the Yammie, styles. New Year 's resolution, was tryng to do a bit more playing instead of converting yammie styles across go my korg. S950 will hopefully help me keep my resolution. Haaha

Best wishes

The T3 versions of the styles will work best because all the voices in the T3 are in the s950. The T4 version of the same style may include a voice that's only featured in the T4 such as a drum, vocal, synth guitar or string voice, if that's the case the s950 would either try and substitute it for a similar voice or if it can't it will have no sound at all.

I would only use the T4 styles that are exclusive to the T4 (eg, not found elsewhere) and tweak them otherwise the T3 version of the style would sound best.

One thing I forgot to mention its worth keeping them all anyway because as I've found that some T3 and T4 styles though called the same they might have a different intro or slightly modified style part that's only noticeable if you're already familiar with the style or if you compare them side by side. I've found this by pure chance.
