... especially for the 'jazzers' ... all four of you - chas, Russ, Boo,Ian - there may be more, no slight intended, I'm just not aware ... I am working on "Dream a Little Dream of Me" and came upon this little gem ... I did some research and the music teacher is working with some really young kids ... The featured young lady - Andrea Motis - is 19 years young now, but some of these vids are from 3 - 4 years ago ... The second vid is a concert of about 55 minutes, with some interviews mixed in ... put it on in the background while you are doing something else on your PC and listen to these kids - and adults - play "American Jazz" LIVES ... Enjoy ... http://andreamotis.blogspot.com/

Tony, when you see this kind of thing it almost brings tears to your eyes. Young people being exposed to, playing, and obviously understanding, good music - and being shepherded by quality adult musicians. You always knew there were little 'pockets' like this all around the world, just wish there were more of them. Compare these young ladies to, oh, say Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. Let's hope that money and the lure of money doesn't spoil Everything in the world. Thanks for sharing that Tony, that was delightful.
chas
BTW, say what you want about jazz, but it (along with classical) demands that you learn your instrument.

chas ... I sat and watched the entire thing and then did more digging to find other you tube vids ... The instructor - Joan Chamorro - has some vids with other students as well, but this girl is just something else ...
deanne ... thanks for posting the blog link ... I posted it but it might have gotten 'lost' in the post ... there are some great vids on the blog site as well ...
I joked around about this being one for the 'jazzers', but I KNOW everyone here enjoys great music no matter what the genre ... I'm glad people are enjoying it ...
BTW ... I wish I understood the language so I could know what they are saying ...
In this one she takes a sax solo as well as a trumpet solo ...
