Hi

Can someone of you describe, what's the use of the feature "Aftertouch" ? I didn't hear any change in the sound - what does it change, how does it work (e.g. if i press a key twice or if i release the key,...)
I read it in the manual of my KN3000 and also in the description of a KN6000 that i once played...

Aftertouch. In simple terms. Select a STRING Voice for the right hand, now whilst playing a note PRESS the key harder. You should now hear the answer to your question.

If you've got a KN6000/6500 then one of the sounds that will demonstrate after touch clearly is the Solo Trumpet. Play the note in the normal way, but then before releasing the note exert a little extra pressure. After touch will vary according to the sound selected, and in some case you will hear nothing different.

feeling you have when someone have touched
your heart.
A certain lady touced mine about 30 years ago,
and I'm still feeling the aftertouch....

OK - OK - OK... of course you're right, I
guess we're talking about music, but to tell
it like it was/is, even the "sound of music"
was/is a part of that "aftertouch"

Also don't forget the option if you use PROGRAM MENUS > SOUND EDIT > CONTROLLER > AFTERTOUCH you can then vary the action of the extra pressure on the key to give many other effects on the sound from Detune,Amplitude level, Panning, Filter cut off, etc. provided that Aftertouch is set to ON in SOUND MENU > PART SETTING page 3

Now i've tried it on my KN3000 with a string voice and on a KN6000 (string and also the solo trumpet) but i didn't hear any changes. Perhaps i've made something wrong but i've tried it many ways : release, then shortly press again; press and shortly press a little bit harder, ...
how do i have to try it ? perhaps i just didn't realize the change in the sound !?

Me again.
Two things to check :
On 6000, set right 1 as Solo Trumpet.
1.Press PROGRAM MENU button.
Select CONTROL then OVERALL TOUCH SENSITIVITY. Scroll down to AFTER TOUCH and switch to ON if shown as Off.
CURVE needs to be at about 5 or higher to show significant change and THRESHOLD at 20.

2. Exit back to PROGRAM MENUS.
Select SOUND then PART SETTING. Right 1 should show Solo Trumpet.Scroll to page 3 and check that AFTER TOUCH is ON.

Press a key and hold it down then increase the pressure on that key and you should notice more vibrato in the sound.

Just had another thought
When I had a 3000, Initially I had trouble with Aftertouch and I think this is controlled by a potentiometer which can be adjusted but you have to remove the casing and if I remember correctly it was on the right hand end of the board. Perhaps your dealer could help with this ?
