On some of my one-nighters, I need a left-hand bass.Typically, I use a 2nd keyboard...a controller on top, with some sort of tone generation source...more pieces and wires than I need for a one-nighter.
At the Guitar Center, I saw a Roland Lucina, discounted hundreds of dollars to $299.00. Of course, it's a low end Keytar, but it has 12 presets and hundreds of sounds, many of which are usable.
Preset # 1 is a bass, and it works GREAT over the main board I use when a walking left-handed bassline is needed.
With only 37 keys and no available case (A Gator 49 key bag works fine)there are some limitations. But, when my bass playing son is busy or the money isn't right for a trio, this little guy doe the job.
Check them out! Everyone has them for $299.00; usually with free shipping.

BTW, little chance I'll EVER use this as a Keytar, although I REALLY Like Herbie on one!
