It was disappointing that I couldn't meet up with Chas in person on my trip this week to Atlanta. My time was tight, and he had a home repair scheduled which prevented getting together for lunch on my way out of town.

We did talk three times or so, and I think I've talked him into helping with a score for another film we'll make down there early next year.

I'll be able to send him a rough, and we can complete on one of the trips I have to schedule (about every 90 days) for the near future.

It may be age, but I get so much more from a direct conversation with a friend than electronic communications.

Chas is articulate, intelligent, courteous and has a wonderful vibe to his voice that is a joy to hear. Reminds me of Billy Extiene (SP?); looks more like Billy De Williams (LOL)! A little taller, though.

I'm cranked that I'll have a chance to visit on a regular basis, and we'll be able to complete a score that will be used in a film about a line of Italian staircases (Fontanot-ARKE) that will be used around the world.

Not much pressure to complete the task, but a chance to visit one of my hands down favorite folks...ever, and work together.

Plus, he's hands down, one of the best players here.

It was well deserved that he was recently named several times as one of the contributors of the best material by members.

See you soon, Chas.

Russ, it has nothing to do with age. Direct communication is far more efficient than electronic, and much more effective. I would much rather meet Russ (the old fart) Lay in person than communicate with him via email. You cannot shake someone's had with your smart phone, cannot see or hear the conveyance of emotion with email, but direct communication allows for both.

Cheers,

Gary cool

This is the way the project will work.

1. I will lay down a bassline, a drum track, and maybe an organ track.

2. Russ will then add a guitar track and perhaps additional keys and string tracks.

3. Add effects and other processing.

4. Remove every track except Russ' guitar track.

5. Submit finished product.

PS: It was great talking (and talking and talking) with Russ the other day. We must have seemed like two little ol' ladies smile.

Tony, just heard back from the client that sharing is OK as long as it does not involve broadcast. That's good. Other clients will not let me share anything, for fear of a theft of intellectual property.

We'll post this one, for sure.

It'll be KILLER!
