I showed up at the wrong gig! Anyone ever do that - hope so!

Anyway, got to hear Dayton Bill in action. Nice voice, good chops, Bose sounds good....

Ended up driving a long way to play ONE gig and home around midnight.....ugh

What did they say when you called & didn't show up to the one you missed? Not showing up for what ever reason leaves a bad taste in an AD's mouth and on your reputation especially last minute notice. I hope they understood what happened by your mistake and re-booked for a later date? Calling in advance to "confirm" the gig could remedy this so it doesn't happen again.

I've only done this once, and fortunately, the correct job was just across the street from the one I wrongly showed up at. Everyone got a big chuckle out of it, though.

I'm pretty meticulous with my calendar, and additionally, each year, when I book the jobs for the next 12 months, I mail them a "Confirmation of Appearance" letter listing all the dates and times, and also follow up with an annual contract they sign and return to me. My wife says I probably do too much paperwork along these lines, but I'm a nut case anyhow, so it helps retain my insanity. wink

Good Luck,

Gary cool

You goof!

Why didn't you stick around and say hi? I thought it was you, but wasn't sure...

You look good, Jim...

I accidentally booked two jobs the same night one time. Not a good thing. Not at all.

And I'm sure we've all turned up at a gig to find someone else booked as well. That's where the confirmation paperwork kicks in.

Yes, and annual contracts with the NH facilities as well. That has happened to me a couple times, I arrived only to find that someone else had already set up. I got paid and didn't have to work both times.

Cheers,
