Good Morning,

My Name is Bob Daley, and I am a guitarist, adn trying to learn the wonderful world of midi. I own a PSR SQ16, b/c I loved the sounds, and I thought that I could eventually program songs in it & use it to play out. I was wondering if you think it was possible for me to midi on a laptop, and load songs from them into the SQ16 instead of using the floppy. that way, I can load on the fly while I am playing out, and also be able to DL midi songs and adjust them using software (Voyetras midi orchestrator comes to mind) to adjust volume settings and voices, etc. To you think this is possible? Thank you for your time.

For my money, the softsynths in the laptops sound as good, or BETTER than the SQ16 does. If you really like the sounds, and don't micd carrying extra baggage around - sure, use the Yamaha, but I recommend just putting your trax on the LapTop and using a SMF player or MP3 player to call up your backing tracks for performance.
