Thanks Bill - Don has taught me a lot over these many years I've known him.

Sounds real good brotha Gary. What style are you using there?

Thanks Donny.

Paul,I used the Contemporary Rock style of the S-950 with everything turned off other than the drums and bass. All the volumes are at default values, the tempo is 150, same as the Tony Joe White version of the song. The guitar is the one that I created on the PSR-3000 many years ago. After posting the song, I thought about redoing the song and adding a lot of riffs with the guitar and some runs with a rock organ, but decide against it for right now. Might do that during a live performance, though.

I've never done this song in front of an audience, so when I get well enough to go back to work, I will give it a shot with the dance crowd at the restaurant. They will either love it, or hate it - but it has been my experience that you will never know which until you give it a try. I was amazed when the dance floor filled up one night when I performed Black Velvet - I never would have anticipated that.

Thanks again,

Gary cool

Great rendition, Gary:

Thanks for sharing the "style" with us. If that is the worst influence ol' Mason has on you... everything's gonna be alright!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you give this thing a "live try" in the near future. I also wish I were lucky enough to be receiving the royalty checks from this particular song. One of my favorite memories is watching my Grandmother harvesting Polk Salad from a fence row on my Uncle's farm in Lavaca, Arkansas. I could not muster the courage to try it but it was a staple for poor southerner's during reconstruction.

All the best,

Dave Rice

Dave, I'll try to get some video of the event and post it. My biggest concern right now is my health, which is really not very good. Hope I can get back to work within the next couple weeks, but the way things are going, this may not be the case. The past two weeks has been very difficult.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Gary,

Sorry to learn you are doing poorly.

Hope you get better sooner than that.

Hope not.
