Just wondering if any T5 owners are having this problem.

On my T5 I have styles where some of the OTS do not sound

In the entertainer category in styles, MOST, maybe ALL, of the Schlager styles have some problem with the OTS not sounding. In most cases it is at least two, sometimes it’s all four OTS. The sound is either very faint or non existent. It always happens with a OTS that is using all 3 right hand voices. When I encounter this, I turn off voice #3 and sometimes #3 and #2 and then the OTS works. But of course you have to do this every time you revisit that particular OTS!

Sent this info in an email to Yamaha, also talk with Tech support on the phone. He said he will get back to me!

If you are having this problem I would like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Don P

P.S. This problem could exist in other categories, I found at least one Alpine style that does the same thing.

Don ... are these original factory styles that came with the KB? ... I have had this happen on my KORG pa900 with styles that came from other KORG boards ...

Hey Tony,

They are Factory Preset Styles. I've been aware of this ever since I've had the KB(about 8 months),however, didn't pay attention to just how many there are!

Tech support at Yamaha has a T5 on hand and are checking it out. Would like to hear from T5 owners on this forum.

Don,

I suspect your problem is where the split point is set, I've done that myself thinking something was wrong with my Tyros

Go to:
Function
Split Point and check where the splits are set. Most likely that will solve the problem.

WAY TO GO STEPHEN!

OK, that seems to solve the problem. Somehow the Right 3 split had moved.

With the accordion the split point is critical. If I set the split for the style above E2, say at F2 if I hit the low F on the accordion keyboard it will play in the style section. For instance, if I were playing in the key of C and hit the F it would change chords to F. I use Multi Finger chord setting so it would make a one finger chord.

Anyway many thanks, I think I have it set right.
