VSTs have been years in front of anything (In both flexibility and quality) in an arranger keyboard, however they have always been difficult to set up which puts a lot of users off, (Once setup they are easy to use) with the new NI Controllers and their Komplete Software this has now been solved as everything is done for you, so all you need to do is select the sound and adjust it to how you want with real-time controls. (Unlike an arranger there are no hoops to keep jumping through)

Enjoy

Bill

You're just getting to old to keep up with the new technollogy, its nothing to be ashamed off... darthvader

Kontroll S, as the keyboard is named is certainly a step in the right direction for VSTs... You can select sounds as easy as on any hardware device... However, that lovely feature does not work for non native instruments VSts, which is a pitty...

Who is going to create that feature that just gives you a list of all presets of all your VST instruments and a longlist to choose from..

One thing is for sure, Keyboard Magazine knows nothing about keyboards and should never attempt to do a demo.

Especially on the board room meeting table with minimal equipment.

This is the worst demo of anything I have ever seen.
The sound recording is all over the place from ear splitting to what the h--- did he say.

If I were in NI Management, I would request they remove this from U-Tube.

Not an especially well done demo, although the instrument appears quite powerful.

Stephen Fortner's voice always reminds me of Oscar The Grouch.

Well I have used Kontakt for a very long time and i think it is one of the best VST's available and that controller keyboard does look like it would be the thing to have, if you have Komplete.

I have a MOX and it works very well with Kontakt as a controller keyboard.

All this underlines for me is how bloody clueless these knob twiddlers are about life, as Donny puts it, in the trenches. You know, we do songs, tunes, that people know, love, and dance to. What a bunch of posers. Twiddle yer knobs, lads.

And oh yea, that mirror finish on the control panel will do real well under the lights :P.

1. Load up Komplete
2. Select a sound
3. Fine tune it to your requirements with the assigned rotary controls (Much easier than crawling through menus)
4. Save it
5 Setup the rest of your sounds the same
6. Setup your pre-sets for the song and assign pre-set change to a footswitch
7. Done, you now have the song setup for eternity (If you want to keep it that long) with some of the best sounds available today, (Better than any arranger keyboard) fully tuned to your personal preference.

So what’s difficult?
