I'm getting to play the PA900 a lot more recently and I am convinced the drums on this thing are real! They are exceptional, clean, crisp, punchy just a pleasure to listen to, nothing artificial sounding about them at all, and these are midi!!?? Great stuff Korg smile

They are very good indeed. I have changed a few kits around, but normally the factory settings are fine. In case they don't please you, there are lots of third-party kits out there for free or very little cost.

Hi Don,

Yes they are very good indeed, I hardly need to edit anything. It's not only the quality of the drums but also the patterns themselves are arranged so well, very realistic.

The Latin kits are amazing.

I didn't realise you could get additional drums? Are they of similar quality? Where can I purchase them from?

Do you think the drums are MORE authentic-sounding than the PA3x?

Are the "styles" different from the PA3x?

And.......I think I read somewhere that you can use the 900 styles on a PA3x.....yes?

Thanks

I know you can use PA3x styles on the 900, so I suppose it would work the other also.
I can't think of a reason for the drums to sound better on the 900, but they seem to be more "live" sounding. Probably the effects.

This summer, I used the PA900 to play MIDI drums on the keys for a children's theatre show in Mt. Gretna PA. I played along with the keyboard player... A two person pit orchestra. I selected the PA900 to play the live drums for the true to life sound... And we could also balance the drums with no problems.
