Included in the Auto Play Chord system, is the Sound Arranger feature. There are some very good variations of the basic styles, within this feature, many of which I have used
As has been said many times on this forum, when recording and saving a performance, it is best to copy the built-in styles to the composer. However, unless I am missing something, it does not seem possible to copy a style, with the Sound Arranger option ON, to the Composer and then recover it later for playback. It seems the only way to use the sound arranger option in a Sequence recording, is to use the built-in styles, which of course may not be transferrable to a later KN.
Any Ideas?

The Sound Arranger settings for each indidual style (all 220 of them) are saved in the current panel. Therefore if you load current panel all your arranger settings for every style are recalled. This information will be useless in a new board unless the style is the same, otherwise it will just be random sound changes. For permanent changes copy the style to composer and change the sounds in the composer track by track. This gives the identical functionality of Sound Arranger but will also play correctly on the next keyboard.

May be there are much other ways, but for instant I followed the next steps to keep the original K-settings saved:
The basic:
1. The Composer variations (1-4) of Composer A is corresponding to Panel Memory A, places 1-4
2. Composer B (var.1-4)# Panel Memory B (1-4)
3. Composer C (var.1-4)# Panel Memory C (1-4)
Knowing this:
After you have copied a preset-rhythm to the composermemory
A. Choose the ComposerMemory wanted..
B. Activate the MSA button (switch to the original preset-style)
C. Click on the first variation
D. Then set Panel Memory 1
.. Then press the second variation and set Panel 2... and so on.
The Trick is: switching between the original MSA-setting and the ComposerMemory and setting the PanelMemory.
Finally you have to save your song with the options on -ON-
Now you can use this in an sequence-song. Pressing the Panelmemories(1-4) has almost the same effect as working with the MSA. (Take care of the preferences you’ve set for the PanelMemory!)
These steps I've also used for backing up the KN6000 build-in-styles WITH SoundArrangerSettings, with the different that I copied the style thereafter in the custom.
I hope, that I understand your question well, Bill, and that this may be an answer to your question ?
The best way maybe to understand this is to examen and try this out ?
Greeting
Cees

Thanks Alec, I always include Current Panel in the save options which makes it OK for file transfer KN6000 to KN6000. The way you describe getting around the issue of upward compatibility, will cetainly solve the problem. Pity it has to be a bit of a long winded process.

Cees I don't think the method you describe will achieve the result that I want. What I was asking was, if there was a way of directly transferring a built-in style, but with the Sound Arranger variation, to the Composer, so that when it was saved and then transferred to the next generation keyboard, the Sound Arranger variation could be used. As Alec has indicated, the only way to do this is to copy the basic style to Composer, and then modify the individual voice settings in the style, when it is in the Composer domain, to match the settings used in the Sound Arranger variation. Then, if the composer is saved, it will include the variation, rather than the basic style, which should then be compatible with future KNs
