Some screws on my Audya76 case were loose when I first got it. No problems however.

Its called "vibrational loosening" and is a recognised industry oddity. I tend to use BondLoc B243 or B222 Threadlock & Seal on our metal gear (no need on plastic) or when reassemblng internal parts for professional customers equipment. One is medium strength (I use this when assemblibg some internal parts) and the other is low strength for screws that may need undoing more frequently.

If using B243 it is vital to use the correct sized screwdriver when removing screws that have been applied with it otherwise you risk damaging the head.

It happens mostly on instruments that are moved around. I believe slight movement in the case when being lifted and moved initially loosens the screws enough for the vibrational effect to kick in. In that case the vibrations might occur when transporting in a car or if the instrument is on a wooden stage where you are using a sub or other PA on the same surface.

TWD is correct ... And as a result of this effect we noticed a while back, we now place washers on all Audya units sold in the US ... since we became distributors. It's an extra step, but one which is worth it.

Thanks,

AJ
