I was excited to see the black housing, but the automation is not important to me, and that's the biggest upgrade. My VL3 is singin' like a bird, and I am in audio heaven, both vocally, and guitarishly.
If I needed all that automation, I'd prerecord the harmonies into an MP3 ... as I've done for years with specialty numbers like my Beach Boys medley.

Will a Voice Live 3 work with a keyboard? If so, how does it hook up to the keyboard?

I use the VL3 with my T4:
Midi out to VL3 Midi in, Mic in to VL3, 2 XLR out into my Mixer for stereo.
My T4 is on channel 2 by default.
I went into set up then Midi on the VL3 and set Midi in to channel2.
I had the VL2, so I was very familiar with the set up.
However, there is a learning curve for editing.
Tons of YouTube videos on how to use it.
