Even though I have never been a keyboard player....
I tried to learn keyboard..being the guitar player I was.
Here's a bit of history:
Roland 88 key: My kids were around 10 years..1988(???)...had to convince the first wife digital keyboards were the future.
Casio Privia 88 key 2004: my grandkids have this one
Yamaha Psr E423: My grandkids have this one
Yamaha Psr S710...I started playing left hand chords...learned what these arrangers can do. Traded for Psr S950..mostly for harmony...
Sold Yamaha Psr 950...got a friend...guitar player/singer bought it from me, trying to learn as well.
Tyros 4...Found out I could be a one man band...sort of.
Tyros Psr s750...had a PA...traded even up.
Perhaps I will trade the S750 for an S950. Maybe I will try to trade the S750 for an SD7??
The SD7 has bugs but has a lot going for it compared to other keyboards..love the on-board speakers...wish any Tyros had that.
Compared to any other instrument(I've paid many $$$ thousands for instruments) price wise for what it can do...It's a steal.
By the way, the Tyros is a steal too.
That said, I think I would buy an SD7 at this point.
Best of luck.
