1-Four STS instrument setting at the bottom of the screen.
2-I want to change the instruments (STS) and save them in a Performance.
3-I cannot change the instruments in the STS. Does this have anything to do with the Global protection? (Lock)

On my Pa800 this is a simple procedure:
1-Change the instruments and the settings.
2- Select from the performance.
3-Select from Tab at the top; Save One Touch Settings.
4-Then I select where I want to save it – 1,2,3,or 4 STS. Done!

A little confused but I’m getting there.

If you want to permanently save them to the factory style locations, you must first go to Global and unlock the Factory Style Protection.
You can save them to a Songbook entry without doing that.
Call if you need help!

I just re-read your question. You want to save to a Performance.
Not sure, because I didn't do it, but you may have to save to a User Style first, then save to a Performance, or change the Factory Style. It was so easy for me to use Songbook that I didn't do anything with Performance except save sounds for quick access.

To my quick-reply friend, Thanks, John

PS, I changed the STS setting; not factory setting, then to Song Book. I set up eight Performance settings for quick recall so I can add to the style I am using. Performance is not set to change the style.

Hmmmmmm, it's what we get used.

The old saying: "Not me, I ain't gonna change".

From a Korg Tutorial:

"How to save an STS: choose the Page Menu (TAB right top)-> Write Single Touch Setting option".

This is what I understand from working with my Pa800:

1- I see the four STS settings on the screen. Now before saving I want to change them (not save them yet) Example: Change STS 1 Trumpet to Piano.

2-If I taped on the single instrument at the top right I was able change the instrument.

3-If I selected a performance, I then could write it into one of the STS settings. The tab above showed: Save Performance, and below that: Save One-Touch-Setting. I can see the "Save One-Touch-Setting" but it is not highlighted and can not be used.

Problem:
1-Neither #2 or #3 steps change the STS in the window. I cannot find a way to change the STS setting in the window. I am not talking about saving here, just changing.

Am I missing a simple step?
OK, confused.

Well I almost sold the Pa900 four times this week, but ------ I broke the code; I understand how to do what had me puzzled. I’m a happy camper.

It’s nice to win after trying so hard. (smile)

Dom,
I work/played my Pa900 from 7:30 to 11:00 tonight. Had a great time, I almost forgot what a new keyboard will do for your desire to play; and to invent. And to play better.
Sure feels good.

Thank you for being a great guy to deal with. And thank you for your interest in me and my progress, your info was a great help.

This forum is special, John C.

Tony, thanks for the applause.
