Hi All,

Im thinking of upgrading from my year old S950 to the new S970. Some of my main qualms on the S950 were:
1) Inbuilt speakers were not great. My previous S900 was much better. Is it better on the S970.
2) The MIC input and overall sound did not seem right at all after numerous settings.

Are the above improved on the S970 plonking that huge sum and is it worth upgrading or should I look for a tyros. Frankly I hardly use the board extensively.

Any help helps

Thanks

Sunny

Hi,

I don't think anyone can answer your questions as yet as there is nothing but written specs on the S970 for now plus a few demos. It would most certainly sound better than the S950, that's for sure.

As many said, it is no mini Tyros 5, but will be the best in the PSR series to date.

From the demos it looks like the 970 is a completed version of the 950, just like the 910 was a completed version of the 900. (The 900 & 950 operated and sounded more like Beta versions, as did the Tyros, Tyros 3 and now the Tyros 5)

As with most arrangers it is not usually very beneficial to upgrade to the next model that comes out, but instead to wait for the following version to appear.

That’s my take anyway.

Bill
