SD7 Demos From AJ

AJ mentioned many of the Audya features are being added to the SD7 on the expected OS upgrade but he is not able to detail exactly what those will be until Italy does the offical release.

Thanks for posting Deane.

Due to personal health circumstances I still have not received my SD7 which however is awaiting for me in the wings.
Hearing these demos I still do not hear what I would like to hear but having played the yamaha PSR970 in the local shop yesterday I heard even less of what I wanted to hear !!
Having sold my PA800 the choice is now down to SD7, PSR970 or PA900 ( in that order).
What bothers me most in virtually all of the SD demos and even the (beautiful) recordings by Don and you is the fact that the acc. tracks are all way too low in volume to get a good idea about the musicality of the styles and the quality of the samples. What I basically hear in virtually all of the recordings is massive drums and bass and a good ( or not so good) right hand sound/sounds.
Ah well I should have a seven days refund guarantee so I will probably go for the SD later on this month.

regards
John

John,
You got mail! John, the style parts of the SD7 are very loud out of the box-especially the percussion parts. If toned down a little the balance is a lot better.

Thanks Deane.

I hear you, and I think it should work out for me but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating for me as well. Nevertheless the options are running out. Like I said I could do with a change from Korg (after 12 years) and I do not consider the PA900 (or even PA3X, out of my budget) a huge step forward to the trusted PA800 that I had.
Yamaha has never truly appealed to me with the exeption of the ancient Yamaha P-80 stage piano, which I bought a few months ago and which has given me tremendous pleasure and still does.
After playing keyboards for 25 years and more I thought I would try my hand at the real thing, piano that is. So far I am making headways allright. Still I am getting carried away here.
I will probably get the SD7 in 10 days'time. And like I said I always have a contingency plan smile

regards,
John

Cheers Donny, that is very kind of you.
Seems like I will have all the spare parts BEFORE having the actual contraption smile smile smile
Seriously though, much appreciated , I hope things will work out for me and ketron. And I guess AJ should be knocking at their door continuously cause these Italians do like "domani, domani "
( no offence intended).
I recall Don talking about an upgrade include pads like on the Korg and the Yamaha's. Seeing is believing..................

regards,
John
