So I have been learning the 970 and relearning Yamaha conventions....this is a great instrument with a few quirks. the arpeggiator helps a ton with energy and variation....and the sounds are uniformly great. wish it had a better selection of EPs but the Concert Grand is at least useable.
One quirk is the audio recorder -- it's very fussy about thumb drives. went through about 6 (including 2 brand new ones) before I found a SanDisc that it could get along with. (kept getting an error msg saying "Audio Recorder is temporarily unavailable" in the middle of recording!)

my next hurdle is to transfer a set of multipads from Korg to the Yamaha. is this possible? I'd appreciate any/all insights.

thank you.

I don't know how the korg multipad conversions will work on the Yamaha but here's a Set of Yamaha Multipad files you might be able to use... good luck.

I've been pretty impressed with the S970 on the last two outings I've taken it.

More info on the PSR tutorial forum.
