Appreciate it Don,.....I wanted to try it last nite with styles and playing KB with backing tracks, etc, also to get more comfortable with it and get levels & settings right. This little DR40 unit is simply wonderful and so versatile. Thanx for turning me on to it!!

Donny ... These recordings sound good, but could probably be just as easily done using the on-board recorder ... I think we both agree that the true value of these units is in creating multi track recordings for a CD, or even for creating backing tracks such as the one for Morse Code of Love where you could have a track for the instrumental background, another for the Bass line singer, and another for the harmony tracks ...
There are just SO MANY uses for these units that the on board recorder cannot accomplish ...
Thanks for posting ... it's good to hear you "Live from - ... wherever ..." grin

Donny you are a true-blue professional. I can easily imagine you captivating an audience. Shame you could not get the SD7 going like that.
One thing though, you mention experimenting with backing tapes together with the keyboard, the keyboard being the 950 I assume.
All these songs here are they plain yamaha psr-950, or are backing tracks involved as well ?
Thanks.

regards,
John

John, in the 1st try all songs were live style play,......in the 2nd try Quando & Leroy Brown are just styles played on the S950,....
the other songs are custom backing tracks to start with some bought some created from scratch then I add & edit different parts here and there with piano, strings, brass, VH, etc, etc, using the S950 to make the arrangements my own.

regards,
John
