This song has been covered by many artists. One of the earliest versions was by one of the singing cowboys of my youth, Gene Autry. Gene became a multimillionaire thanks to his recording of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". This song is jazz styled and sung in the fashion of someone like Frank Sinatra.

Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye Aye! Don, everything you do is good and this is certainly no exception. The jazz style works. I'd probably prefer it with more of a Latin/Mexican feel.
Under no circumstance though did I sing "Apon her face" or "fiester". Maybe he had some of that "kickapoo juice" before the performance. Can't believe how prominently the finger snap comes across.
When see the title of this tread I just had to look. Hope you don't mind if i post link to one of my favourite artists version that I found when take a peek at your Sinatra link. This one by Willie was new for me, so thanks for leading me to it.
