Cities have never done it for me. It's the countryside, the mountains, forests, beaches (none of those in landlocked Laos) and lakes that draw me. In short, I like nature. Wish I could spend at least an entire year camping.

Taike, I grew up in Alaska, and spent more time outside camping and living in temporary shelters than on US Air Force housing. I rode a little Cushman scooter from Fairbanks into the wilderness; sometimes for weeks, at the age of 12. My mom would go nuts, beat the hell out of me...I'd head out the next week.
Love to camp and love to visit this part of the world.
I hear ya, Russ. Camping lifts one's spirits and it is so relaxing. Mind you, I always keep busy when camping but about everything you do has such a calming effect on you.
The longest I've camped outside was two months. Two months with no interaction with anyone apart from the weekly visit to the market to stock up on food. Total bliss!
