I just sold my T5. I didn't need to sell it , but after two years playing and selling it for the same money I bought it for I couldn't refuse the offer.

Now what else to get? If s970 had a better keybed I would get it right away. At the moment I don't need an arranger because I play with other people too. I hate playing alone. Always have. It is a necessary evil for me. I do like having an arranger. I don't know if I want to get me pa4x. We will see. I am interested in EA7 too. Ketron ??? I don't know.

you sound very confused look in the mirror & talk to yourself...do some soul searching and just buy something for YOUR Needs....

Mind that the E-A7 is not a high-grade arranger, I'd rather get a BK-9 with a discount. An E-A7 following a Tyros 5, I guess this won't result in much joy (and I've been a long-standing Roland supporter).
If you don't need the arranger functions, why not a synth? I would definitely wait for NAMM and Musikmesse in spring.

I am in no hurry at all. Will be looking at Namm although nothing major will come I think.

Several options :

1) buy another Tyros 5, still the best
2) buy the new Yamaha Montage and add Varranger or a Ketron MidJ pro
3) buy a Kronos and add a Ketron Midj Pro
4) buy a PA4x, its the only arranger that comes close to Tyros 5
5) Ketron SD7 might also be an option if you really like the Ketron styles ( midj pro would give the same style quallity)
6) Roland.... i would wayt till after NAmm to make a decision on that... as said the BK9 is a valid option..
7) Casio MZ-X, who knows how godly it might sound, wayt till we have seen demo's after Namm


In genreal chances are huge anything but option 1 will feel like a step back...

I've only had the PA4X for a couple of weeks, but I absolutely love it. Great new sound engine, everything sounds better.... Improvements have been made to OS.... It has been stable as a rock.... Love the big tilt screen... Chord Sequencer can now be saved to Songbook... even the midi to style converter works pretty well. I can't imagine an arranger that would better suit MY needs. Of course yours may differ.
If it matters, it has a reasonable weight and small footprint. You can even power a USB light from it!
I ever prefer the new guitars to those of Yamaha. Now that's saying a LOT!

Thats quite a feat...

I just adore the guitars on the tyros, and the flexibillity they show in combiantion with the Guitar Amps and effects.. I even like them better then most guitars on the Kronos..

I cant compare to the PA4x however, havent had much time with it. So far i have found the PA4x to outshine the Tyros (but not the Kronos) on piano's both acoustic as well as DP's and espescially Drums, where i think it even outscores most of my Kronos. The Drums sound so realistic and vibrant.. Big scores there for the PA4x..

I think in the end both T5 as PA4x sound awesome, and most of the time you will only hear the difference in direct comparissons.

What Mirza needs to ask himself when comparing PA4x to Tyros 5 is how much he uses the features that PA4x does not have, but Tyros 5 has like SA2 voices, Organ world, ensemble feature, using sequencer and styles at same time...
And then look at what pa4x has to offer what T5 doesnt, like chord sequencer, more direct controll of styles and probably some more..

For a gigging musician the PA4x is slightly lighter, but feels much mor robust then the Tyros 5 (metal casing)

Actually I'm hoping my BK9 will work as a Synth in a band setting as well as it does as an Arranger. I'm sitting in with a Blues Band with hopes for some future gigs and I've spent a considerable amount of time progamming some setups for that. Mostly Hammond / Piano stuff. Very different from my Arranger setups. I thought that if this band works out I would get a Roland VR 09 or Hammond SK1 to go with my Casio Privia piano. Just for my own info I contacted Roland and found out that the BK9 has the same organ engine as the VR 09 so I don't need to spring for a new board. And the Pianos are as good as the Casio so unless I really want two keyboards I'm good there too.
This Sat. I'm doing a OMB in a new place in Habersham SC ( look it up, its really a cool little upscale town ) and it will be all Arranger so my BK9 is getting a workout.
BTW where did you see them discounted, I still may want another.

If you need 4 live parts, 2 left, 2 right when playing in a band, you have to use a workaround I found out, as otherwise the BK-9 allows for only 1 polyphonic left part when using the split button (as you surely know). Just ask me via PM if you need 2 left parts, it can be done with a midi cable loop and changing midi settings.
