Looking at the design its definitely gonna be hard to find a case for this KB..unless its custom made.... just sayin'

That's such a shame . Casio keyboards still sound like Casio keyboards . The piano is a real disappointment and the internal speakers were clearly distorting at what I would regard as modest volume . Not a good demo at all but probably an accurate one ......

I dont make any commnets no more on sound quallity, untill i played or heard an instrument live...

It was a mobile phone recording, and a bad setup, with 20 watts, it was probably set to near max volume...


My opinion so far, i think the styles and sounds remind me of the KN7000...and that was Technics, not Casio

The distortion was poor; however I have noticed that a lot of phones do that when recording music, (There only designed for the narrow voice range) so it may not be the keyboard.

Why anybody makes a judgment of a keyboard with a phone recording (See above) escapes me.

Keyboards are usually voiced differently for the Asian (As in the video) and Western market so again there is no idea of whether this is anything like what a western version will sound like.

As I have always said (Similar to what Bachus said) online demos are a waste of time in trying to judge what a keyboard sounds like, the only way to know for sure is to try one for yourself.

I cannot speak for you guys but I know the basic tone of a piano whether recorded on a mobile phone or direct . That's a very clear tell tale Casio piano tone . It's not an eastern or Western piano tone regardless as to which market it is set up for . And the distortion was not from the phone recording it was from the speakers . I have played enough Casio keyboards to know . Anyway time will tell .

I don't know on what planet you live but the piano sounds on the casio's are very good. I have owned the XW-p1 for 2 years and I love the piano sounds on it not to mention the other great sounds it have.

But I missed the styles so I bought the ctk-7200 which has even a better piano sound then the XW p1

Now the MZ X500. I know that it have the same piano sample as the cgp-700. So if you want to know how the piano really sound you should listen to some demo's of the cgp 700.


The distortion came from the phones with which they recorded that MZ X500 video.

Okay, the piano's from the CGP 700, use the Air technollogy, the samples might be there, but the MZ-X lacks the piano string resonance or AiR linear morphing tones that make the piano's in the Privia series so good..

Which makes me believe that these piano's are okay for an arranger, but not enough for a stagepiano...

Yes but it is an arranger. If you want a stage piano buy the PX 560 I go for both. Oh and the CGP don't have the Air technollogy. Only the Privia's.

hmmmm, ... perhaps my friend was right when he told me a number of technics guys had been hired by Casio ...

The old MZ 2000 was also created by Technics so who knows.
