Still need to try one in person to see how the keybed is....and how easy it is to see the screen setting down (I'm short)

Cool!

Display visual isnt so good if you sit low in the seat.. But it is bright.. A tilt screen is needed..

I thought they advertised the new color screen was nicely viable from angles??
Maybe they lied. Marketing 101.
I'll have to see how it is in person.

It is, Lee, and from all angles I've tried.

Yes it's bright.. But, If you sit very low it's hard to read...the higher you sit the better the read... Only a tilt screen will help that like T5

I'm only 5' 3" so that could be a bummer.
Aren't most in Japan short?? So why is Yamaha so stupid about this?

Well, I just tried reading the screen from a 15 degree angle from horizontal, and I had no problem reading the screens. However, in order to see to tabs at the top of some screens, you must be almost directly over the display. I rarely use the tabs, but I guess, for some, it could be a problem. Of course, you could revert to what we did in the old days, raise the back end of the keyboard with some rubber door-stop wedges. smile

Gary,
Raising it in the back...not a bad suggestion...that could work for me.
Any keyboard I get will simply set in my Den...never moved around. I have a on-stage stand that is very nice and I could angle the keyboard a bit if it helps enough.

Gary, do you have the 950? or the 970?
I thought the display was advertised as better on the 970??
Thanks

If you all remember I raised the Korg pa900 keyboard in the back with pvc & rubber caps what a fiasco and a bad Playing angle also.... Nothing is more better than a tilt screen.... Sheeeesh even my old Kn5000 had a tilt display... Yamaha wake up!!

I think Donny, when it comes to PSR they want to keep it more home (toy like) even we all know it is not.
PSR-S970 = $1995....T5 = $5,000...WOW what a spread...they need a middle of the road machine.

I think we finally got them to listen when it comes to PRO players & Tyros...now we need for them to wake up on the PSR in some ways (I know it is a very nice set of keyboards overall)
