Yesterday a good friend stopped over to play my DGX 650. He's thinking of one to have a little fun with in his basement. He's a great pianist....20 plus years on the road.
Anyway, we jammed, me playing chords(some right hand fills)on my S970 and he, filling in leads and fills on the Dgx 650...me singing...at times me using the 650 harmony.
We had a blast. This guy is every bit as good as my brother on piano. I think he had fun too.
Got me thinking though.
I'm nowhere close, keyboard wise, to my friend and my brother....I would love to get there...just not enough time left in life to do that.
These arrangers allow those of us with little keyboard experience to entertain folks. For that I'm grateful.
However, playing with a real keyboard player reminds me what keys are all about.
